This document summarises the progress of achievement of the basic capacity level for cleaner production (CP) in CEEC/NIS, including details of CP demonstration projects, CP training materials and CP in the university curriculum. The framework conditions for CP in CEEC/NIS are discussed in terms of the role of other stakeholders in supporting CP activities, the implementation of environmental management systems and EMS standards, and the financing of CP investments.
