A collection of papers concerned with national strategies for sustainable development. Countries and their related programmes form the focus of the papers. The subject matter includes:  the Gambia Environment Action Plan, the South Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), work in Ireland and the UK, various programmes in Latin America and Central and Eastern European Countries, the National Environment Action Plan in Bangladesh, the Sarhad Provincial Conservation Strategy in Pakistan, the Philippines Agenda 21, the Zimbabwean District Environmental Action Plan, Ghana Vision 2020, and Namibia’s strategy for sustainable development.
