Coordinating Institution
The role of the coordinating
institution (IIED) is to assist in planning the approach, tracking progress
(ensuring adherence to the timetable and agreed approach), reviewing and editing
mid-term and final reports, drawing out generic and country specific lessons,
developing an initial draft of DAC policy guidance and a draft sourcebook, and
the provision of networking, liaison and administrative support.
The Department for International Development of
the British Government (DFID), on behalf of the DAC Task Force, has contracted
the International Institute for Environment
and Development (IIED) to coordinate the OECD DAC initiative and provide
technical support to the dialogues with developing countries.
